A Survey on the Status of Occupational Health Workers

Abstract
|
|
|
A survey on the status of occupational health, workers at 607 industrial institution in Korea was carried out from 1 to 30 Nov. 1975.
The following were the main findings of the survey:
1) The 21-25 years age group of occupational health workers was 33.4%.
2) Regarding the, educational background of occupational health workers graduates of-high school were 75.3%.
3) 60.0% of the occupational health workers had less than 1 year experience in the field of medical & public health
4) 68.8% of industrial institution were keeping the legal eight hour labor.
5) Regarding the status of occupational health program training of health
workers, 63.6% of them were not trained at all.
6) 60.1% of occupational health workers were carried out first aid treatment. 7) 49.8% of occupational health workers in their job, while 4.1% of them were not interested in it.
8) 34.1% of the institution had dispensary facilities.
9) 23.3% of the institution had qualified health manages & workers.
10) There was a significant correlation between the size of institution and dispensary facility. A greater percentage of large size institution had dispensary facilities.
11) There was a significant correlation between the size of institution and health personnel. A greater percentage of large size institution had qualified health managers and workers.
